First little step with Fuki urushi 漆 finishing, a natural Japanese lacquer on my Japanese style spoons: 有道木杓子 Utōshakushi carved from lime (Tilia) wood.
Slowly and carefuly applied with the great explanations and tips of master urushi finisher 登根円 Madoka Tone.
One spoon with plain Urushi, one with red pigments and one with black pigments.
Urushi is obtained by evaporation and filtration of the sap collected from the Toxicodendron (Rhus) vernicifluum, a deciduous tree of the Anacardiaceae family.
